THATCH: The word Thatch has its origin from the word THACK, referring to roof covering. Thatching is a skill of designing roofs.

Thatch roofing has existed since our ancestors realized the need for a roof over a house. Our ancestors besides discovering fire were also capable of using Thatch through different natural materials like dry leaves, reed, straw, and tied them together to be used as a roofing solution.

The most common material used was the water reed, which was and still is considered to be the durable material for thatch roofing. Thatch roofing is still used today because of its vintage and rustic look.

We discover that places near the seaside mainly follow the notion of using thatch roofs due to their ambiance and to attract the visitors for its natural vintage appearance. They have been using thatch as a flavor to enhance their spaces by installing thatch roof Gazebo, Pergola, or a Patio.

Not all houses in the 21st century install thatch to their shelter, but all of us do like the appearance of thatch roofing as it feels closer to the natural environment.
