WHY TO AVOID USING NATURAL THATCH?

For good reason, natural thatched roofs have been used for decades. They may be physically appealing, but they may not be the most trustworthy or practical material to use.

Thatched homes are more vulnerable to fire than other types of structures. Thatching is a more labor-intensive way of roofing than other methods, which affects the final cost. When plant material is not digested properly, birds seeking food, gathering nesting materials, or nesting on the roof itself become more likely.

When rodents are present in the home, they may cause considerable damage.

There are several key reasons why we don’t prefer to use natural thatches over synthetic ones, which are described below:

❖ A major issue in the building of thatched roofs is a lack of qualified labor to produce and install natural thatch. For optimal results, it is more prudent to invest in a ready-to-install, long-lasting product like synthetic thatches by KHW solutions, which can be installed on-site by a trained team of experienced workers who have completed numerous big projects in a variety of climatic circumstances.

❖ Natural thatch is easily infested by bugs and rats. To keep natural thatch free of infestation, it must be fumigated on a regular basis using hazardous chemicals and pesticides that can damage individuals who live in the area. Our synthetic thatch is constructed of durable HDPE, does not attract rodents, insects, or birds, and requires no care.

❖ Natural thatch rots in the monsoons require regular maintenance and must be replaced every few years. Synthetic thatches are preferred to natural thatches since they require no care, have a minimum warranty of 20 years, and may endure for up to 50 years. It does not fade, can endure UV radiation, severe temperatures, and high wind speeds, and is completely waterproof.

❖ Natural thatch, which must be renewed on a regular basis, is produced by harvesting leaves at regular intervals. Our synthetic thatch is completely recyclable and LEED-certified. It is simple to carry to a building site and, while being generated artificially, proves to be a far more environmentally friendly option.

We hope we've been able to counteract some of your misconceptions about natural thatches and help you pick the finest thatches for your restaurants, schools, universities, and personal places.
